Petronas Dagangan gets new CEO

Petronas Dagangan Bhd (PDB), Malaysia's largest marketer of downstream petroleum products, has appointed Aminul Rashid Mohd Zamzam as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer effective Sept 1 this year.

Aminul Rashid, 46, replaces Amir Hamzah Azizan, who will remain on the company's Board of Directors, PDB said in a statement.

Aminul Rashid was appointed as its Chief Operating Officer in March this year, PDB said.

His last position prior to joining the company was as Chief Executive Officer of Petronas International Corporation (Egypt) Ltd.

"I am confident, with his commitment and passion for excellence, Aminul Rashid will be able to steer PDB to further lead all segments of the domestic market as well as create a strong presence in the region," said Amir Hamzah, Vice President of Downstream Marketing, Petronas.

Meanwhile, Aminul Rashid said the petroleum sector is a very competitive and dynamic industry, and demands business acumen, technical expertise and commitment to customers to be a successful player.

PDB is currently the market leader in the commercial and LPG sectors, with 59 per cent and 55 per cent market share, respectively. -- Bernama
